Position: Scientist - Cell Biology (Non-Viral Gene Therapy)
Primary Location: Cambridge, MA
Travel: Occasional travel to 225 2nd Ave, Waltham, MA as needed
Position Overview
Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Genomic Medicine Unit (GMU) of a leading pharmaceuticalpany, contributing to innovative research in non-viral gene therapy. This position will focus on cell biology applications that support genome editing technologies aimed at developing transformative treatments for both rare andmon diseases.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and executing cell-based experiments to advance multiple therapeutic programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive scientific progress.
The anticipated wage for this position is between $54 and $58. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location and other factors.
Key Responsibilities
Support the non-viral gene therapy team by designing and executing well-planned cell biology experiments in close collaboration with peers.
Develop and optimize gene editing workflows across various cell types using electroporation, lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery, and other technologies.
Analyze editing oues by assessing mRNA and protein expression, including flow cytometry-based methods.
Perform magnetic isolation and flow cytometric sorting of cells; prior experience in these areas is strongly preferred.
Design and maintain diverse cell culture systems, including primary human cells, to evaluate functional oues post-editing.
Serve as an active contributor to multiple project teams, sharing data and insights with colleagues across GMU and broader research groups.
Maintain a strongmitment to research integrity and scientific rigor.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, or related field with 6+ years of relevant research experience OR
Master's degree with 3-5 years of experience in a biopharmaceutical setting OR
PhD in a related field (no postdoctoral experience required).
Hands-on experience with genome editing techniques (e.g., CRISPR) is preferred.
Proficiency in culturing primary human cells is required; experience with NK cells, hematopoietic stem cells, and/or T cells is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to independently plan and execute flow cytometry experiments. Familiarity with the Agilent Novocyte platform is a plus.
Strong attention to detail with a results-oriented mindset and a history of contributing to successful research oues.
Excellent written and verbalmunication skills.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
