Chemistry QA Lab Tech II

Akkodis is seeking a Chemistry Lab Tech II for a long term W2 contract position with a client in Louisville, Kentucky. *** No Corp-to-Corp; No C2C; No Referrals from C2C *** Rate Range: $20.00/hour to $ 22.00/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Chemistry Lab Tech II job responsibilities include: Perform material compatibility evaluation of various engineering materials like elastomers, plastics and metal as per internal test procedures. Prepare samples required from appliance parts using power tools. Interacting with internal customers to discuss test plans, sample requirements, and test results. Developing detailed test reports including graphs, calculations, etc. Calibrating and maintaining equipment in good working order and managing work queues to address test requests in a timely manner. Maintain a safe and organized work area and follow all EHS policies. Qualifications: Associates Degree (technical) or military equivalent At least 6 months of post college experience preparing samples or relatable experience Ability to operate sensitive lab instrumentation (such as microscope, weighing scale etc.) Good understanding of engineering materials like elastomer, plastics and metals. Aptitude in scientific testing approach and principles, critical thinking skills to understand test procedures and proper instrumentation to deploy, able to work autonomously with limited supervision. Ability to operate power tools such as bandsaw for sample preparation. Demonstrated ownership of work and ability to multi-task with many projects occurring simultaneously Strong analytical, problem and process solving, and organizational skills. Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace.
