The Plant NIR Specialist is responsible for executing the Near-IR (NIR) program for on-line/in-line/at-line methods including process monitoring, control, and release of raw materials, premixes, and finished products in compliance with CP Standards and Guidelines. This position provides technical support to the manufacturing facility in the areas NIR, rapid methods, and NIR equipment maintenance.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Execute NIR program including control charting, documentation, bias evaluation, and equipment maintenance This includes ensuring proper documentation & compliance for internal & external audits
+ Collection of data for the development of NIR calibrations.
+ Troubleshoot issues related to the NIR processes and programs
+ Support the development and validation of other rapid analytical methods to support manufacturing consistency and product quality.
+ Implement and monitor SOP in compliance to Colgate-Palmolive Standards and train manufacturing staff to utilize developed methods and maintain instrumentation.
+ Perform quality lab-related tasks including but not limited to sampling, sample preparation, analytical data review
+ Provide support for troubleshooting of analytical methods and laboratory out-of-specification investigations related to rapid methods
+ Contribute or write deviations, Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPAs), Lab Investigation Reports (LIRs), conduct modeling and other investigatory procedures
+ Provide support to analytical lab as necessary for business needs to ensure accurate and timely analysis.
+ Provide support to Quality Systems Team Leader and Clerical Chemist when absent
+ Communicate with corporate partners and vendors to address statistical trends
**Basic qualifications include:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related scientific field such as Food Science, Environmental Sciences or Biology with 2+ years experience in an analytical laboratory in food, consumer product or pharmaceutical industry OR a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years experience in an analytical laboratory in food, consumer product or pharmaceutical industry
**Preferred qualifications include:**
+ Experience in calibration development using chemometric software
+ Method development in a laboratory setting.
+ Strong ability & knowledge of Statistics and Statistical Process Control tools
+ Experience with dashboard tools and data analytics
+ Previous experience using SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
**Compensation and Benefits**
Salary Range $64,000.00 - $72,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
