This is an onsite temp opportunity with duration of 6 months.
Summary & Scope of Position:
Provide laboratory support for scientific development activities to support the INTERCEPT Blood Systems. Process and treat blood products, collect samples and perform assays such as red blood cell agglutination (gel card) assays.
Support research and/or development activities by performing studies to support development, validation and conduct of assays for multiple projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Execute experiments, make observations, analyze data and interpret results, either independently or as a team member
- Provide support for or perform RBC assays (gel cards, flow cytometry support)
- Analyze data and results for research experiments
- Maintain laboratory instruments
- Document work in laboratory notebook in an accurate and timely manner
- Draft summary reports, protocols and quantitative analyses
- May present at departmental meetings
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications/Requirements/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Experience working with human blood products highly desirable
- Basic understanding of laboratory procedures, equipment, and computerized data handling
- Team-oriented
- Flexible; ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Good communication skills (encompasses verbal, written, interpersonal, listening)
- Time management (schedules, timelines, task prioritization)
- Attention to detail
Compensation: $36.05/hr
