Job Title: Quality Control Technician Pistachio Processing
Pay Rate: $17/hr.
Shift: 1st and 2nd
Benefits: Medical, Dental, AD&D
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports To: Quality Control Supervisor / Plant Manager
Job Summary:
The Quality Control (QC) Technician is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality and safety of pistachios throughout the processing operation. This includes inspecting raw and finished product, verifying compliance with food safety standards, documenting results, and working closely with production to maintain high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections of incoming raw pistachios, in-process batches, and final product.
Monitor product quality against company specifications and USDA standards.
Perform RTT Sampling
QC DATA Collection/QC DATA entry
Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory and testing equipment.
Document inspection results accurately and timely on QC forms or digital logs.
Work with production to correct quality issues.
Assist with regulatory audits and maintain compliance with HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, and other food safety programs.
Collect samples at various points of production.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required;associate s degree in food science or related field preferred.
1+ year experience in food manufacturing or agricultural product inspection (pistachios preferred).
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety practices.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for long periods.
Strong attention to detail, record-keeping, and communication skills.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Work Environment:
Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures in a plant environment.
May require overtime during harvest or peak production
Required to stand for long periods of time.
