We are looking for a Chemical Operator in our facility in Modesto, CA. The salary for the role is $21.00 per hour with full benefits.
This position is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures; safely control physical or chemical changes or reactions in the processing of wood treatment chemicals. Equipment used includes agitators, reactors, mixing tanks, pumps and grinding mills.
Essential Job Functions:
Ensures safety, quality, and productivity standards are met and wears all proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
. Understands all required Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Production Tech III.
Must understand batch sheets and related production paperwork.
Follows all safety policies, procedures, and training requirements as defined by company policy and training programs.
Maintains up to date training on OSHA procedures, food defense, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
. Supports Safe Quality Food (SQF), Quality Assurance (QA), GMPs, and all other safety policies and procedures.
Must be knowledgeable about the operation of all production equipment and emergency operations for manufacturing.
Maintains basic knowledge of customers, labels, miscellaneous containers, pack sizes, and fill weights.
Responsible for properly handling hazardous chemicals and understanding the proper procedure if spills occur.
Maintain GMP/housekeeping at a high level within the department through involvement of all team members.
Report daily to the Production Supervisor, in a consistent format, on all daily activities/duties.
Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensures that tools/equipment used are cleaned/sanitized, returned to the proper storage location, and are ready for reuse.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Complete all required training and certifications including but not limited to: o 49 CFR 172.704 Subpart (H) Training Certificate o Forklift Training / License
Qualifications & Experience:
HS grad or GED required.
Preferred: Prior experience in an Industrial Operations Environment or Naval Engineering
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
