GFS Chemicals is looking for a Chemical Operator for our Organic Manufacturing Division to help grow our business. This position involves the manufacture and purification of chemical intermediates in an industrial environment. This position is for the 2 nd Shift, and hours are 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday-Thursday. Training takes place during the first 3 months on 1 st shift, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Salary is $24/hour to $30/hour, and is negotiable based on experience. Candidates with shift leadership experience are encouraged to apply.

About the Job
The Chemical Operator manufactures chemicals building blocks used in pharmaceutical, electronics, agrochemical, and flavors & fragrance commercial applications. You will be trained to work in multiple work centers over time allowing a changing work environment each day.
Daily activities include:
- Utilize pumps to load raw materials into vessels
- Monitor reaction conditions using our electronic PLC systems
- Work closely with Quality Control to test and adjust batches in process
- Package finished goods into containers ranging from 1 liter to 55-gallon drums
- Use a fork-lift to stage pallets of raw materials for upcoming batches
- We empower operators to participate in problem solving and continuous improvement
- Focus on industrial housekeeping and personal protective equipment usage
- Follow written operating procedures including the record keeping of information
- Most importantly, help to create a positive, productive, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years’ experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting preferred.
- Experience with chemical batch manufacturing is extremely helpful.
- Proven ability to multitask and operate multiple work centers at the same time.
- Possesses good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and safe behaviors.
- Demonstrates a positive, team-based attitude.
- Mindset for attention to detail with strong observation and analytical skills.
- Ability to wear proper PPE, including a full-face respirator.
- All employees must pass a drug screen and physical exam.
