What Youll Do
- Set up, calibrate, and operate distillation equipment and support systems.
- Use analytical instruments to evaluate product quality and interpret results.
- Handle chemical materials with caretransport, weigh, mix, and pump as needed.
- Monitor process parameters to ensure product consistency, quality, and optimal yields.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Support and guide Distillation Technicians as a technical resource.
- Keep detailed records of production, safety, inventory, and training activities.
- Comply with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
What Were Looking For
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in distillation and analytical chemistry.
- Proficiency in operating distillation and analytical equipment.
- Strong understanding of piping, valves, and process control.
- Experience with gas chromatography and result interpretation.
- Ability to work with metric and U.S. measurement standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Laboratory experience, especially in a chemical or fragrance environment.
- Knowledge of organic chemistry and scent evaluation.
- Ability to assess materials by odor.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time, onsite position in Danbury, CT.
- 2nd shift schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM 11:00 PM.
- Training may include alternative shifts.
- Be prepared for exposure to chemicals, fumes, and odors; safety training provided.
- Physical demands include handling heavy containers, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
