Description

The Quality Control Technician ensures concrete products are compliant with all required specifications. The position assists all levels of the operation in establishing and achieving quality control objectives while working closely wit the operations and sales departments.

Perform physical property testing of ready-mix concrete products including slump, air content, unit weight and temperature.

Communicate effectively with customers to resolve quality concerns and problems in the lab, at the plant, and in the field, making adjustments to the mixes using the appropriate admixtures as required.

Prepare/perform testing of laboratory mixtures and raw materials including aggregates, cements, pozzolans and chemical admixtures. Document/perform data entry of all test data.

Schedule -

Monday - Friday with some overtime possible.

Summer Hours: Monday - Friday, 5 am - 3 pm (can vary depending on production needs).

Winter Hours: Monday - Friday, 6 am - 4 pm (can vary depending on production needs).

Saturday work may also occur and be required occasionally.

Management retains the right to amend and modify this form any time as working conditions, economic conditions, or safety practices are changed. Any such changes will be in the discretion of management to require the employee to perform additional tasks as either a primary or secondary job function or to require additional knowledge, skills, and abilities.

About the Role

Perform chemical and physical tests to ensure product compliance with ACI, ASTM, AASHTO and PCI standards.

Collect and prepare samples from plants and job sites for analysis.

Conduct in-depth problem-solving, data analysis, and troubleshooting of material performance issues.

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring an organized and efficient testing environment.

Collaborate with team members to resolve quality concerns in the lab, at the plant, and in the field, including adjusting concrete mixes using appropriate admixtures.

Provide support to production teams, sales staff, and customers regarding product quality and safety.
