The Opportunity:

Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company, is looking for a dedicated Quality Control Specialist to optimize our NuSil Quality Control & Validation organization. This Carpinteria, CA role is full-time, on-site.

What we are looking for

Minimum Education Requirement:

  • Highschool diploma/ GED

Required Experience (1+ yr)

  • In operation Quality Control, to include assessment of product and packing process to ensure consistency and conformity to associated SOPs .
  • With sample checks of finished batches in line with SQL techniques.
  • With sign off on certificates of conformity.
  • Collaborations skills (IE: Microsoft Office).

Preferred Experience:

  • Undertaking physical goods inspection of raw materials at point of receipt .
  • With batch form sign off/product release ensuring alignment to GDocP.
  • With competency verification of training on product work instructions/SOPs.
  • Monitoring completeness and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) and documenting these on an internal quality system.
  • Quality control, including record keeping and batch traceability.
  • With quality management systems (IE:ISO 9001, ISO 13485)
  • Within a GMP environment.
  • With ERP systems (IE: SAP).
  • With six sigma, aimed at improving processes by reducing defects and variation while striving for near-perfect quality.
  • Business level communication skills (verbal and written).

As a member of the Quality Control & Validation team the Quality Control Specialist will strive for continual improvement, demonstrate innovation and organizational agility.

The Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Conducting internal quality controls vis-a-vis specific areas of Avantor products to insure they fulfill given quality procedures and norms.
  • Monitor and record inconsistencies of quality procedures.
  • Prepare quality analyses and recommend necessary quality procedure changes.
  • Record and analyze customer claims.
  • Prepare reports on rejected or defective products.
  • Ensure continual improvements are undertaken, including the review and update of local work instructions.
  • Assist and participate in Quality training.

Environmental working conditions & physical effort:

This is a mixed role between an office and operational environment. It will require you to enter a warehouse environment and will involve some manual handling of boxes where you will be required to wear specific protective clothing.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$60,100.00 - $100,100.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
