Job Description

  • Performs sensory, physical, and chemical tests on finished products to assure they meet established specifications
  • Perform wet chemistry product testing, equipment inspections and perform audits. Laboratory testing includes salt, viscosity, bicarb test, displacement test, moisture, surface color, UV-Vis, HPLC, antioxidant testing, Fat CEM Rapid Analyzer, Micro testing - Kjeldahl, test protein.
  • Evaluates Bill of Material (BOM) for completeness and proper documentation.
  • Records test data and maintains laboratory work list in LIMS system to assure timely release of finished products.
  • Reports nonconformance with immediate corrective actions in LIMS system.
  • Performs required inspection for manufacturing equipment, storage equipment, and sanitation cleaning.
  • Participates in check sample program with outside institution(s) and in internal proficiency program to verify accuracy.
  • Follows proper GMPs and GLPs.
  • Uses proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
  • Assists with Raw Material testing, COA review, and COA filing as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Food Science/Chemistry or Bachelors degree with relevant experience (minimum of 6 months) in a Laboratory or food company or Associates degree with 2 years experience in a food processing company with exposure to quality assurance/control/testing
  • Able to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals and small groups.
  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak English Language

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Food Science/Chemistry or a related field.
  • 6 Months+ of Industry Lab Experience preferred

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
