About this role:
The Ingredient Science Principal Scientist serves as a technical specialist in developing fundamental ingredient knowledge and developing performance studies. This role drives development of robust solutions value propositions during the NPD stage gate process working closely with the Applications Research & Deployment team and Innovation & Development team to help deliver innovative, customer-focused ingredient solutions globally.
Accountabilities:
- Conduct foundational research on ingredient interactions and functionalities. Assess interactions and influence of different parameters on the functionality of ingredients
- Drive the development of robust ingredient value proposition during the NPD stage gate process working closely with Research & Innovation Scientist and Commercial Platform Leads
- Closely collaborate with Applications Research team on design and execution of experiments to confirm robust value propositions during later stages of the NPD stage gate process
- Collaborate with Applications Research teams to assure foundational ingredient knowledge is incorporated into Knowledge Building and Chassis projects
- Develop technical documentation and insights to support internal teams and external customer communication.
Skills and Experience:
- Ideally educated on master's degree or doctorate level (or equivalent) in relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 5+ yrs of industry experience.
- Expert knowledge in related specialised fields, disciplines, tools and approaches within R&D and applications in the food and beverage industry.
- Strong communication skills to persuade and influence stakeholders. The role needs to adapt styles, interpret and explain information to different audiences inside and outside the organisation who are not familiar with the subject matter.
- Able to solve complex problems which require advanced decision-making, research, original thought and new solutions
- Resolve ingredient-related issues that are complex or unusual requiring original thought, research, new approaches and analytical techniques.
- Provide advice and guidance through technical knowledge, research and analysis within own discipline, which impacts the performance of the team.

The salary range for this position is: $89,000 - $130,900..
