Description
The CAIPP lmmunophenotyping Core seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician to support the daily operations of our state-of-the-art flow cytometry and imaging facility. This position is essential for supporting investigators by preparing single-cell suspensions for flow cytometry, managing instrumentation, maintaining inventory, and ensuring lab cleanliness. The technician will interact directly with faculty and users, particularly to support Cytation 10 operation and training.
95% - Essential Position Functions and Duties:
Sample Preparation & Acquisition:
Generate single-cell suspensions from tissue for flow
Perform basic flow cytometry acquisition for small
Run Pro-Separator
Conduct antibody testing and monitor dye
Instrumentation & User Support:
Train users on Cytation 10
Monitor andtrack Cytation 10
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of instruments, including the lsospark and Pro-
Provide customer service support to investigators using the core's
Laboratory Management:
Track and maintain laboratory inventory and
Place and monitor
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Develop and manage a sample storage tracking
Maintain antibody stocks and track expired
Histological Support:
Perform slide staining for basic histological assessments (no sectioning).
5% - performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
The applicant must meet one of the following:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Microbiology, Biology, or related field. Must be able to pass a federal background check. Basic knowledge of general laboratory equipment and Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree from an accredited university in Microbiology or a related area.

Salary Range: $35,000 - $50,000
Primary Location: Shreveport, LA (on-site position)
