Job Description
Job Profile
The QC Technician supports daily lab operations through the preparation of chemical samples, operation of analytical instruments, and maintenance of lab equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow standard procedures, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare aqueous and metal-organic stock/custom samples per QSPs.
- Follow SOPs and safety protocols.
- Perform lab cleanup, equipment cleaning, and routine maintenance.
- Store retain samples and verify measurement equipment periodically.
- Operate analytical instruments (e.g., titrators, particle counters, viscometers, FTIR).
- Use lab balances and other equipment as trained.
- Follow written/verbal instructions accurately.
- Work independently and collaboratively with minimal direction.
- Meet production targets and maintain consistent performance.
- Apply math, computer, and problem-solving skills.
- Learn quickly and retain technical knowledge.
- Handle chemicals safely and manage hazardous waste per regulations.
- Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support laboratory operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or associate degree in a physical science preferred; alternatively, two years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Ability to problem solve and maintain critical thinking.
- Ability to use lab equipment safely and correctly.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills for electronic as well as physical files.
- Ability to interpret technical information.
