Chemical Operators - 1st Shift
Location: Cleveland, OH
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
Sirius Staffing is seeking multiple Chemical Operators to join our team in Cleveland, OH, supporting a large manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role responsible for operating packaging equipment, monitoring quality control, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate packaging machinery to assemble, fill, seal, and label products.
Perform quality checks to ensure products meet all specifications.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to all safety protocols.
Unload materials from delivery vehicles, inspect for defects, and label accordingly.
Conduct material identification testing and generate necessary documentation.
Move and stage materials using electric walk-behind tow motors and manual pallet jacks.
Portion chemicals (e.g., amino acids) according to SOPs and batch records.
Collect samples for Quality Control (QC) testing.
Clean and label finished goods containers.
Box, palletize, and wrap products for shipment.
Load delivery vehicles using electric tow motors.
Accurately complete batch records, logbooks, and forms following GDP and ALCOA principles.
Execute SAP transactions as required.
Promptly report any deviations, discrepancies, or abnormalities and assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, PPE, and utensils.
Actively contribute to a culture of safety by identifying hazards, coaching peers, and ensuring incident-free work.
Participate in training and complete required electronic learning modules on time.
Support process improvements in safety, quality, and 5S standards.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and internal PPE requirements.
Maintain professionalism and foster positive working relationships across all levels.
Follow GMP, IPEC, ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards where applicable.
Seek guidance from supervisors to ensure optimal compliance and performance.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience handling chemicals is required.
Forklift operation experience is required.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs unassisted; more with assistance.
Proficient in packaging equipment and basic hand tools.
Strong attention to detail with effective teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
Quality & Safety Expectations:
Must be clean-shaven daily for respirator fit requirements.
Steel-toed shoes are required at all times.
Strict adherence to PPE and all safety procedures.
Accurately document equipment use and calibrations per GDP standards.
Participate in ongoing safety programs, 6S initiatives, and maintain audit-ready housekeeping.
