Quality Control Specialist

Job Description:

The Quality Control Specialist has broad responsibility for Quality Control auditing of finished goods and the manufacturing facility. This position will also be responsible for database maintenance, troubleshooting, and product disposition, including product hold/release authority, quality inspection, investigation, and reporting issues associated with Food Safety and Quality. The position requires employees to receive cross-training in other QC functions to provide backup support as needed. The role involves inspecting finished goods, representing Medical Foods, Dietary supplements, and other high-profile contract customer products.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter data into company databases
  • Perform inspection of equipment, product, and/or production lines
  • Ensure conformance to GMP guidelines and company policies/procedures
  • Inspect/audit facilities, manufacturing equipment, and products as require
  • Identify non-conforming conditions and products relating to food safety and food quality
  • Place on hold products or materials that do not conform to specifications
  • Initiate investigations into the causes of material or product non-conformance, gathering pertinent information without prompt from Supervisor
  • Investigate customer complaints with guidance from Supervisor
  • Perform internal audits based on SQF guidelines

Qualifications:

  • 1 year of quality control experience in food & beverage
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good analytical skills
  • Experience following GMPs

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
