The Team: You will develop components in a team that manages large-scale infrastructure for AI model training, evaluation, and optimization for JustWalkout Tech. These AI models are at the heart of JWO and determine which customer picked which product in a store. The services scale from mining large quantities of video data to train foundation models, developing services to train these models, and finally evaluating them at scale. The team innovates within the unique space of JWO requirements while using scalable, state-of-the-art AI solutions like AWS SageMaker, etc.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will help solve a variety of technical challenges and mentor other engineers. You will play an active role in translating business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. You will closely work with researchers on scaling the development of computer vision, and deep learning problems. Also, you will help invent new features, design, develop and deploy highly scalable and reliable distributed services. You will work with a variety of core languages and technologies including Java, C++, Python etc.

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
