We're looking for a thoughtful, organized supervisor to lead outreach and support activities across multiple environmental programsincluding TEMPO systems. A bachelors degree in an environmental, biological, atmospheric, chemical, health, nuclear or physical science field, an engineering field, a geography/geosciences field, a natural resources field, or in a statistics or quantitative methods field plus three years of experience in an environmental program, nuclear energy or radiation protection program; Geographic Information Systems (GIS); an environmental, analytical, or research laboratory, LIMS (Lab Integrated Management Systems), or laboratory auditing; OR A masters degree in an environmental, biological, atmospheric, chemical, health, nuclear or physical science field, an engineering field, a geography/geosciences field, a natural resources field, or in a statistics or quantitative methods field plus two years of the experience in an environmental program, nuclear energy or radiation protection program; Geographic Information Systems (GIS); an environmental, analytical, or research laboratory, LIMS (Lab Integrated Management Systems), or laboratory auditing; OR A doctorate in an environmental, biological, atmospheric, chemical, health, nuclear or physical science field, an engineering field, a geography/geosciences field, a natural resources field, or in a statistics or quantitative methods field plus one year of experience in an environmental program, nuclear energy or radiation protection program; Geographic Information Systems (GIS); an environmental, analytical, or research laboratory, LIMS (Lab Integrated Management Systems), or laboratory auditing. Job Duties:The Environmental Scientist Supervisor (ESS) in this position supervises public participation activities for all media and TEMPO support activities in the Public Participation and Database Support Group (PPG-DSG) Unit of the Public Participation and Permit Support Division (PPPSD). The ESS supervises both Environmental Scientists (ES) and Environmental Project Specialist (EPS) employees. The ESS ensures all the activities of the group adhere to the departmental regulations and policies and adheres to quality control objectives. The job duties include the following:
- Supervises activities of the Public Participation Group (PPG) staff
- Assist other divisions with public participation activities as requested. Coordinate with other agencies as needed. Review materials associated with public participation activities for accuracy and completeness.
- Supervises the activities of the Database Support Group (DSG).
- Serves as a backup to OTS for assigning TEMPO security roles for the department and trouble-shoot TEMPO problems related to security roles. Coordinate TEMPO testing of upgrades and enhancement. Develop and review guidance material relative to TEMPO.
- Establish and maintain SOPs and guidance documents for the group. Reviews and comments on the public regulations as applies to the activities of the group

Compensation: This position offers a Special Entrance Rate (SER) listed below. This is the minimum compensation that may be offered. The job tittle and salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
- Environmental Scientist Supervisor: $31.38 per hour
