What You Will Achieve
As an Associate Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and youll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. You will have the important role of executing robotic sample preparation in a regulated Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) setting to support Pfizers vaccine programs according to Standard Operating Procedures. In addition, you will also support throughput activities and provide testing support for clinical and non-clinical research programs.
Your strong foundation in general scientific practice, its principles and concepts will help in meeting critical deadlines. You will be relied on as a technical contributor to assess the assigned tasks and make decisions that involve direct application of your knowledge.

How You Will Achieve It
Exercise and build basic team effectiveness skills {e.g., commitment, feedback, consensus management, etc.} within the immediate work group.
Perform job responsibilities in compliance with current Good Practices (cGxP).
Assist in updating and writing documents associated with bio-functional assays, including information/data archiving, Standard Operating Procedures, and status reports.
Perform sample preparation for preclinical and clinical serology assays to support vaccine development and clinical studies. This includes robotic sample preparation, use and maintenance of appropriate equipment, and preparation of relevant reagents.
Complete required documentation for all laboratory work. This includes the use of laboratory information management systems and/or paper forms.
Stay current on all departmental and corporate training.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
BA/BS in a relevant scientific field with 0-2 years of experience.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency in computer skills, including word processing, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant scientific software.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements):
Pharmaceutical and biotech drug discovery experience.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of automated liquid handlers.
Experience in a high throughput setting.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
This position will spend significant time in a laboratory environment and must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
Physical requirements include: lifting (up to 50 lbs.), standing, walking, and bending; ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk, benchtop, or biosafety cabinet.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations and perform data analysis as needed.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
May need to work on weekends to meet critical timelines.
