Lab Technician/Senior Lab Technician-Evening Shift

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as Lab Technician or a Senior Lab Technician located in Vichy, MO. This position will work 1pm to 9pm.

Summary:

Perform basic quality control tests, data entry, and documentation, and other tasks per the instruction of the Quality Control Supervisor. Runs basic lab tests or advanced instrumentation, can troubleshoot 25% of issues, fills out POs, and ships samples to other locations.

Responsibilities:

Lab Technician:

  • Conduct key functional tests testing (e.g. chromatography, spectroscopy, etc.) on BSI products, intermediate materials, and raw materials
  • Assist with routine physical property testing (e.g. density, viscosity, etc.) of BSI products, intermediate materials, and raw materials; report & document results
  • Alert Analytical Manager and manufacturing personnel of out-of-control or out-of-spec test results
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance on inspection and test equipment/instruments to maintain accuracy, precision, and fitness for use and storage
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks and clean-up procedures
  • Troubleshoot issues with test results and inspection equipment under supervision
  • Show initiative to minimize the number of unprocessed production samples
  • Writing and revision of test procedures
  • Maintain clear thorough entries in lab notebooks, specifically by denoting complete procedures and data

Senior Lab Technician:

  • Same duties as Lab Technician

  • Additional duties as Senior Lab Technician:

  • Conduct routine physical property testing (e.g. density, viscosity, etc.) of BSI products, intermediate materials, and raw materials; report & document results

  • Alert QC supervisor and manufacturing personnel of out of control or out of spec test results

  • Operate and perform routine maintenance on inspection and test equipment/instruments to maintain accuracy, precision, and fitness for use

  • Comply with clean room protocols, and perform general housekeeping tasks and clean-up procedures

  • Ensure that the use and storage of inspection/measuring/test equipment or instrument is such that the accuracy, precision, and fitness for use are maintained

  • Perform key functional tests (e.g. chromatography, spectroscopy, etc.) on BSI products, intermediate materials, and raw materials

  • Responsible for maintaining control charts for equipment

  • Basic troubleshooting capability: understands normal functions of equipment, recognizes and identifies problems and knows who to pull in for assistance

  • Show initiative to minimize the number of unprocessed production samples

  • Apply knowledge in all phases of product testing, SPC, and Control of Non-Conforming Product

  • Writing and revision of test procedures

  • Participate on Operations Teams (MRB, CAR, etc.)

Education & Credentials:

Lab Technician:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 4 years' experience in a lab or chemical manufacturing environment or
  • Associate Degree or
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Senior Lab Technician:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 6 years related experience in a lab or chemical manufacturing environment or
  • Associate's Degree plus two years' experience or
  • Bachelors Degree preferred or
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience
