Lab Analyst I
Job Description
This position involves performing routine testing on samples within the Analytical Services laboratory, providing essential analytical data for process control, quality control, process development, product development, and waste management. The role requires working eight-hour shifts with rotating days every three to four months.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine analytical testing according to protocols and work instructions.
- Alert lab leadership about sample integrity, inventory, safety, or analysis discrepancies.
- Communicate troubleshooting opportunities in testing processes.
- Identify and report operational issues with laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Operate Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Chromatography Data System (CDS).
- Search databases for test methods, specifications, and standards.
- Accurately record, calculate, and report analytical results.
- Assist in improving procedures and implementing continuous improvement projects.
- Participate in lab/site safety programs and cross-site initiatives.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma with at least 1 year of laboratory experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to analyze outcomes against standards.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload efficiently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred.
- Academic or quality laboratory experience preferred.
- Understanding of basic HPLC and GC operations.
Work Environment
The work environment is a 24-hour production site operating on three shifts. The hours for this position are 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
