Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking highly a skilled and motivated chemical laboratory technician to be part of the Chemical Analysis team engaged in advanced technology at GlobalFoundries state of the art 300mm wafer fab (Fab 8) located in Malta NY.

As a Chemical Analysis technician this position will be required to perform a variety of chemical analyses to support our integrated circuit manufacturing operations. Laboratory technician positions are hourlyshift positions primarily working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts. GLOBALFOUNDRIES is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory Technicians working in the Chemical Analysis laboratory will be required to perform measurements to characterize the chemical, physical and biological properties of materials using the following chemistry techniques

  • Electrochemistry potentiometric titration

  • Mass Spectrometry ICPMS, TD-GC/MS, residual gas analyzers

  • Evaporative sample preparation techniques

  • Airborne molecular contamination sample collection techniques

  • Infrared spectroscopy static and mobile platforms

  • Total X-Ray Fluorescence spectroscopy

  • UV-Vis spectroscopy

  • Bacteriological testing

  • Chromatography ion, gas, liquid

  • Surface Tension

  • Single Wafer Desorption

  • Support 24x7 factory systems.

  • This is a 12 hour Night shift. (6:00pm to 6:00am)

  • Must be able to work nights

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education Minimum Associate Degree in Chemistry or related technical field or equivalent military experience

  • Years of Experience 3-5 Years experience working in an analytical laboratory

  • Language Fluency Fluent in English Language written & verbal

  • Physical Capacity Demands Able to perform shift work on a 12 hours per day shift schedule. Able to follow work and safety procedures for laboratory environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be a team player when facing challengesin a fast-paced manufacturing setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 Years experience characterizing chemical and physical properties of materials in a semiconductor setting

Expected Salary Range

$46,400.00 - $80,100.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
