As a Staff Software Development Engineer, you will collaborate with product, technology, and engineering teams to create exciting new solutions that will span various technologies and environments, including data offerings in the public cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) and private/hybrid cloud. The Staff Software Development Engineer must be a strategic thinker with a growth mindset and a curiosity for new and emerging technologies, patterns, methodologies, and market offerings. The Staff Software Development Engineer will influence strategy, lead design and implementation, and possess excellent communications skills.
Additional Responsibilities:
- You'll lead efforts to design, build, and deploy end-to-end platform automation capabilities consumed via an API layer from multiple front-ends
- Drive the creation of automation for application infrastructure services to improve delivery and speed-to-market
- Build APIs to orchestrate automation exposing self-service capabilities to improve customer experience
- Collaborate with security, architecture, and engineering teams to establish and enforce standards and best practices
- Partner with product and program teams to define roadmaps and execution plans
- Drive initiatives to incorporate open-source tools, cloud native services, and AI to increase efficiency
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience as a multi-faceted Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer or similar role delivering automated infrastructure solutions at an enterprise scale
- 5+ years experience in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, and strong experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), specifically Terraform and Ansible
- 3+ years experience using and administering build automation, continuous integration, and source code management CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Octopus, Jenkins, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS) as well as on-prem environments (VMware)
- Experience working with modern database and caching technologies (eg. MongoDB, PostgreSQL, BigTable, Neo4J, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticache)
- Experience using Restful APIs
- Experience with Container development (Kubernetes, Rancher, OpenShift, GKS, EKS, AKS)
- Experience with Test Driven Development
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (SAFe, Kanban, XP)
- Experience with AI assisted software development Experience with microservice and service mesh architectures
Education:
- Bachelors degree, or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$130,295.00 - $260,590.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the companys equity award program.
