Lonza is currently seeking an experienced Research Associate II to join their team in Houston, TX.

POSITION: Research Associate II

JOB LOCATION : 14905 Kirby Drive, Houston, TX 77584

DUTIES: Support the development and execution of manufacturing processes for current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) within the cell therapy development matrix. Interact with new or existing cell therapy clients to document and transfer new processes to Lonza sites in order to communicate and present work in meetings. Contribute scientific and engineering expertise towards the design and development of new process ideas that support client product concepts. Support the use of cellular, biochemical, and molecular techniques on characterization cell therapy products, including cell culture, nucleic acid extraction, real-time qPCR/RT-PCR, ddPCR, flow cytometry, and microscopy. Maintain detailed records, experimental data, and protocols following Lonzas best documentation practices. Prepare data summaries and data reports. Work with lead scientists to communicate and summarize results for meetings, written reports, and presentations. Provide technical support in analytical method optimization, qualification, and transfer to QC following. Perform common laboratory maintenance and maintain stock of lab supplies and reagents in support of ongoing programs. Comply with all pertinent safety policies, rules and regulations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Biomedical Engineering and requires experience, course work and/or project experience supporting the use of cellular, biochemical, and molecular techniques for expansion and characterization of cell therapy products, including cell culture, nucleic acid extraction, real-time qPCR/RT-PCR, flow cytometry, and microscopy; and preparing data summaries and data reports.
