Summary

As a Battery Scientist you will be responsible for developing and optimizing innovative processes and technologies for battery development, including new materials, cell designs, and manufacturing techniques. You will work to enhance battery performance, safety, efficiency, and sustainability. You will have a strong understanding of electrochemistry, materials science, and engineering principles, with a focus on both hands-on laboratory work and data analysis. You will lead and manage a team of R&D Technicians and oversee daily lab operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee daily lab operations and lead continuous improvement efforts to optimize lab efficiency, accuracy, and throughput.
  • Responsible for handling the team's tasks and assignments and making sure technicians are appropriately performing assigned tasks.
  • Designing and executing experiments to test battery materials and designs.
  • Analyzing data to optimize processes and characterizing materials to understand limitations and develop solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations based on test data and findings.
  • Maintain documentation for internal processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, test protocols, and documentation including specification requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally with other battery scientists, production engineers, and quality assurance teams.
  • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and safe operation of lab equipment. Maintain training material and provide training when needed.
  • Ensure safety and regulatory requirements (like GLP and GMP), including LOTO procedures.
  • Responsible for lab material inventory and procurement requests.
