About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated scientist with extensive knowledge and experience in cellular and molecular immunology and antibody discovery who also shares our passion to help patients live a higher quality of life.
The candidate will possess a breadth of knowledge/research skills in cellular biology, immunology, neurology, and laboratory experience across both in vitro and in vivo disease model systems, exploring the cellular, molecular, and phenotypic underpinnings immune-mediated disorders. Expertise in cell and molecular biology, sequencing, bioinformatics, data mining, and other approaches to identify and validate targets and pathways is highly desired.
The successful candidate will thrive in collaborative environments, have a proven track record of success across different groups or organizations and can adapt quickly to new scientific challenges.
This is a laboratory-based position that will involve designing and executing experiments to advance pipeline programs as well as discover and validate new targets. Working in a dynamic environment, the candidate will be expected to use a variety of in vivo, in vitro, and in silico tools.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Apply technical skills and functional knowledge to projects within own work group/project team independently and proactively. Examples include: Design and perform cell-based and in vitro assays; direct and/or execute/support in vivo studies

  • Work in alignment with manager and project lead to independently plan, design experiments, and establish protocols based on published literature and project needs

  • Document all experimental design, protocols, results and interpretations in electronic laboratory notebook in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for supporting portfolio projects, leveraging research platform support, develop project goals and meet project milestones and timelines

  • Responsible for advanced cell-based assay development, including human whole blood, human and rodent primary cells, coculture, and ex vivo tissues

  • Provides training and/or supervision to junior staff, as needed

  • Maintain a high level of engagement at the group and project team level; actively participate in lab and team meetings to interact with colleagues and understand specific deliverables in terms of project goals

  • Collaborate with scientists and technical staff across a range of disciplines, from molecular and cell biology, flow cytometry, neuropharmacology, neurochemistry, histopathology, and behavior, to develop deep mechanistic understanding of disease pathogenesis andconfidence in target rationale

Requirements:
  • BS/BA in degree inbiology, molecular and cellular immunology, or a related biological area and 2+ years of relevant experience OR

  • MS/MA degree and some relevant experience OR

  • PhD in cell biology, immunology, or related disciplines with 1+ years of either postdoctoral

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in both one-on-one and group settings

  • Detail-oriented while maintaining awareness of broader scientific impact

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines with high accuracy and efficiency

  • Prior biopharmaceutical industry experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of NGS technologies, their implementation, and data analysis

  • Must be self-motivated and data-driven

  • Must be able and willing to learn and incorporate new concepts and technologies

  • Able to explain the process behind the data and the implications of the results.

  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated ability to work with a variety of laboratory equipment/tools

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both 1:1 and large group settings. Excellent computer skills

  • Proficiency across cellular, biochemical, and molecular techniques, which may include stable cell line generation and characterization, protein detection (MSD, Luminex), and gene profiling (RT-PCR, RNA-seq).

  • Expertise, as evidenced by a publication track record in immunology and/or neuroimmune biology/cell-cell signaling is required

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills

  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines, with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency

  • Prior experience in biopharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred

  • Experience in human PBMC isolation, lymphocyte proliferation, activation, cytokine secretion, and differentiation assays

  • Basic molecular biology skills including mRNA isolation, TagMan, NanoString, and scRNAseq experience are highly desirable

  • Competency in utilizing computational approaches to data analysis

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $88,000.00-$127,550.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
