What We Are Looking For
BizBuySell is seeking a Sales Comparable Research Associate to get in on the ground floor of a new research function. BizBuySell is launching an initiative to verify reported sold business comps by our member brokers to capture additional information and verify key details. This effort will improve the depth and quality of our sold business comps database and enable participating brokers the ability to showcase their best deals and become eligible for additional recognition on the platform.
As a BizBuySell Sales Comparable Research Associate, you will be investigating business sales over $2 million and producing trusted sales comparables nationwide. This is done by obtaining, reading, and understanding transfer documents, monitoring reported transactions, researching all aspects of the deal (scouring websites, news articles, press releases, and online filings), and interviewing all parties involved in the sale transaction. We are looking for an individual who thrives on cross-functional collaboration,balances big picture thinking with hands-on execution, anddoes whatever is necessary to collect and verify sale date at a high level of accuracy and completeness.
We believe in-person collaboration drives the best results for ourcustomers and users.This position isin office Monday through Fridayinour Richmond, VA office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fully research reported business sales transactions over $2 million
- Interview the related parties to the transaction such as buyers, sellers, and brokers
- Dig into the financials of the deal, the performance of the business, the real estate specifics where applicable, and accurately enter this information into the database
- Develop a network of business broker contributors who can be relied on to share comp data for those deals meeting our minimum threshold requirements
- Meet minimum verified sales comp volume targets
- Assist with client inquiries regarding product usage
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College
- A track record of commitment to prior employers
- 18+ months CoStar research or analytics experience
- Demonstrated competency in sales comparable research or related real estate research
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Natural curiosity, persistence, and ability to conduct thorough investigative research
- Proven success performing to metrics or key performance indicators (KPI)
- Experience communicating with internal business partners and external clients by phone
- Have an understanding of commercial real estate and business sales terminology and calculations
- Be goal-oriented and manage multiple responsibilities, adjust to changing priorities, and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work within a team environment as well as an individual contributor
- Demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience within the commercial real estate industry
- Experience and demonstrated proficiency with Excel that includes the ability to manipulate data, filter, and develop basic formulas.
- Capability to accurately capture and enter data
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations at a high growth company
