responsibilities:
  • Perform routine molecular biology techniques, including:

    • Primer design
    • DNA construct design
    • PCR amplification
    • Cloning
    • Plasmid and DNA purification
    • Restriction endonuclease digestion
    • DNA sequencing and analysis
    • Bioinformatics analysis using sequence databases
  • Design and execute laboratory experiments
  • Analyze and document experimental results in electronic systems and lab notebooks
  • Present data and findings during group and departmental meetings
  • Write and review experimental protocols and technical reports
  • Contribute to general lab organization and maintenance
  • Track and order laboratory reagents and supplies
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with SOPs, SWIs, and protocols
  • Serve as the Molecular Biology Subject Matter Expert (SME) for tech transfer and manufacturing support
  • Coordinate data capture and maintain accurate tracking records
  • Support DNA sequence analysis and construct design using software such as SnapGene
  • Optionally perform experiments involving:

    • Site-directed mutagenesis, Gibson assembly, and seamless cloning
    • RFLP (Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism) and Femto Pulse
    • Baculovirus DNA purification and protein expression in insect cell systems
    • RT-PCR or qPCR assay development and data interpretation
    • Aseptic cell culture procedures

qualifications:
Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related discipline
  • 0-2 years of relevant academic or industry laboratory experience
  • Hands-on experience with core molecular biology techniques, including:

    • Primer design
    • DNA construct design
    • PCR amplification
    • DNA cloning and plasmid purification
    • Restriction enzyme digestion
    • DNA sequencing and sequence analysis
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory procedures and equipment (e.g., pipettes)
  • Ability to plan, execute, and analyze lab experiments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with:

    • Site-directed mutagenesis

    • Baculovirus protein expression systems and insect cell culture
    • RT-PCR or qPCR assay design and analysis
