Contract - 6 Months
Responsible for developing, planning, and monitoring operations for various sections of the materials department to include preparation of specific written plans for lab pack repack, material processing, tank farming, and receiving sections to achieve optimal burn results for incinerators. Assistance with plant operations personnel to include troubleshooting, process startups, production volume, and site equipment problems. Interact with appropriate site personnel to ensure environmental, health and safety issues and requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare specific written burn plans by providing hazardous waste type, special instructions heating and chlorine values for all drum waste.
Provide specific instructions to hourly personnel for proper and safe handling of solid changes to ensure proper incineration.
Prepare plans for specialty and feeder systems to include type of waste, flushing, handling for residuals, and operator instructions for burning any residual solid wastes.
Maintain and update reactive database and all profiles to composition, handling, incineration, etc. to insure and expedite appropriate burn requirements
Insure and monitor that all hazardous waste inventory is processed in accordance with designated time parameters.
Work with appropriate operational personnel to determine the preferred method of handling various waste streams.
Prepare a variety of weekly and monthly reports to determine and ensure that existing process burn plans are effective and efficient.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills:
Prior work experience of 2-4 years in the hazardous waste industry preferred
Extensive knowledge in processing methodologies
Education/Experience:
BS in Chemistry or related discipline required
