You will be a Research Engineer at Lockheed Martin, responsible for supporting development and production efforts on aerospace products. Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions, and you will play a key role in performing hands-on production support, research, and product development, including the research, specification, planning, design, development, and testing of aerospace products.

What You Will Be Doing
As a Research Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Performing hands-on production support, research, and product development on aerospace products
Researching, specifying, planning, designing, developing, and testing aerospace products
Working with Environmental and/or Mechanical Instrumentation to apply mechanical engineering principles to real-world problems
Conducting dynamic and climatic tests in accordance with approved procedures, safety standards, and organizational policy
Operating digital vibration controllers to produce broad band random, swept sine, classical shock, and shock synthesis tests using electrical-mechanical vibration exciters
Conducting tests with instrument items, including accelerometers, thermocouples, and strain gages
Setting up and running vibration test equipment and temperature/humidity chambers
Using oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and other basic lab equipment

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. A Final Secret Clearance is required to start.

Bachelors degree in Hardware, Mechanical, or Aeronautics Engineering with equivalent professional 8+ years experience in the field.
Experience in preparation, planning, setup, and execution of vibration and temperature tests on electronic components.
Experience with instrument items with accelerometers, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, thermocouple, strain gage instrumentation, and other basic lab equipment
Final Secret Clearance required to start Operate digital vibration controllers to produce broad band random, swept sine, classical shock and shock synthesis tests using electrical-mechanical vibration exciters.
Ability to support preparation, planning, setup, and execution of environmental development, qualification, and production tests on electronic components
Experience with recommending and implementing changes to lab equipment and standard lab procedures to improve laboratory operability, reliability, and safety.
A thorough understanding of the operation of electrical-mechanical shakers and the concepts of digital vibration controllers
Basic understanding of aerospace environments, there derivation and application in a test lab setting.
Basic understanding of fundamental concepts of random vibration and signal processing.
Strong communication and computer skills.
Experience managing multiple projects at once.
Effective technical writing skills for development of test reports and procedures.
Experience with operating digital vibration controllers to produce broad band random, swept sine, classical shock and shock synthesis tests using electrical-mechanical vibration exciters.
Experience with conducting dynamic and climatic tests in accordance with approved procedures, safety standards, and organizational policy and ensure proper equipment calibration.
Experience with instrument test items with thermocouples and conduct tests by operating temperature/humidity chambers to specified conditions.
Knowledge of basic electronics theory and high degree of mechanical aptitude.
An understanding of the fundamental concepts of structural dynamics, random vibration theory, and digital signal analysis
Familiarity with accelerometer,
