- Receive, examine, and log inbound samples for testing.
- Deliver test samples to the sample staging area.
- Monitor and report the availability of supplies needed for testing processes.
- Perform testing of samples and quality control specimens using specified methodologies after demonstrating proficiency.
- Review results against specifications and known expectations and may issue analyses to clients.
- Prepare samples, quality control specimens, reagents, and solutions; calibrate equipment needed for testing processes.
- Verify, communicate, and accurately record results to ensure traceability.
- Maintain documentation, equipment, and work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
- Assist in training less experienced employees after demonstrating sufficient proficiency.
- Carry out responsibilities while adhering to safety policies, quality management systems, ethics policies, and environmental management systems.
- Experience in a lab environment.
- Proficiency in chemistry and analytical chemistry.
- Familiarity with analytical instruments such as GC and ICP.
- High school education or equivalent, with an advantage given to those with petroleum testing experience or formal chemistry education.
- Two years of relevant experience required for technicians performing U.S. Customs related testing.
- Bachelors degree in chemistry or a related field required for Laboratory Analyst - Chemists.
