The Proteomics and Metabolomics Core at Cedars-Sinai is seeking a curious, motivated, and detail-oriented Research Associate to support proteomic assay development and production. This role provides hands-on wet lab experience in a collaborative environment equipped with cutting edge instrumentation, including advanced HPLC and mass spectrometry platforms.

About the Role:

In this position, you will:

  • Perform a variety of wet lab procedures to support proteomics and metabolomics workflows.
  • Assist in developing, optimizing, and validating analytical methods under the guidance of senior scientists.
  • Learn to operate and maintain analytical instruments, with opportunities to expand into HPLC, mass spectrometry, and automation systems.
  • Contribute to a dynamic Core facility that supports diverse investigators and research needs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or a related field
    (BS with 02 years of experience, or MS with no professional experience required)
  • Basic hands-on experience with wet chemistry and/or biochemical techniques gained through coursework, internships, or academic research
  • Willingness and ability to learn new laboratory techniques and instrumentation
  • Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain accurate lab records
  • A positive, flexible approach to problem-solving in a fast paced, evolving research environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with HPLC , mass spectrometry, or analytical instrumentation
  • Exposure to Thermo or Sciex mass spectrometry platforms
  • Familiarity with laboratory automation tools
  • Experience using or supporting Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
