Job Summary:
The College of Agriculture at Auburn University seeks candidates for a Research Associate role. The individual selected for this position will provide professional-level assistance with research related to bolstering aquaculture production through cost-effective water quality management. This is a limited term appointment funded from external sources. Continuation of employment is contingent upon the availability of funds.

Essential Functions:
Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Collect blood samples from fish, process samples, and analyze samples using a variety of benchtop assays and instruments.

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

• Research Associate I: Masters degree in a life science related field; no experience required.

• Research Associate II: Masters degree in a life science related field and 2 years of experience in analytical lab skills and/or research practices and protocols relevant to the position.

• Research Associate III : Masters degree in a life science related field and 4 years of experience in analytical lab skills and/or research practices and protocols relevant to the position.

• Research Associate IV: Masters degree in a life science related field and 6 years of experience in analytical lab skills and/or research practices and protocols relevant to the position.

Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications Minimum Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work with aquatic animals
• Analytical laboratory skills

Minimum Technology Skills:
Basic skills with Excel

Minimum License and Certifications:
Valid drivers license required

Desired Qualifications Desired Qualifications:
Desired qualifications include the following:

• Experience in hematology assays
• Experience collecting and processing blood from animals
