Position Summary

The Clinical Analytical team at Aetna, a CVS Health company, engaged with Aetna Clinical Solutions to ensure that member with the most healthcare needs receive clinical support when and where they need it. By optimizing the design, operations, interventions and outcomes of clinical programs and products, the clinical Analytics team can help staff on the front lines better serve our members.

We are seeking a Decision Scientist who will develop capabilities for efficient and intelligent management of clinical solutions. This includes building automated pipelines, visualizations, and real-time tracking systems. You will work in a cross-functional team alongside experienced decision scientists, clinical leaders, and engineers to define and create innovative analytical products.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Excel in business analytics and possess a solid statistical background.
  • Have a keen sense of numbers with the ability to uncover insights and identify new opportunities through data analytics.
  • Be passionate about building analytics and data science products/tools.
  • Have experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and be interested in creating visualization applications/processes in Python
  • Experience in developing analytical tools for tracking and managing operational team performance
  • Be proficient in writing production-level SQL and Python code.

Overview:

  • Conduct retrospective analysis using statistical modeling technique such as Propensity Score Weighting, Propensity Score Matching
  • Design, launch and monitor various A/B tests.
  • Analyze large volumes of data related to clinical solutions to uncover insights and inform strategic decisions.
  • Create and maintain data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data for reporting and analysis.
  • Utilize data visualization techniques to effectively communicate analytical results and support business objectives.
  • Document projects, including business goals, data collection methods, results, and analytical metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and alignment with organizational goals.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in business analytics, data science, or a related field with strong statistical background
  • 2+ years of professional experience with SQL and Python
  • 2+ years of experience in developing visualizations using standard tool such as Tableau, Power BI, Google Looker, R-Shiny or Python etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to solve complex problems and excellent communication skills
  • Experience in developing analytical tools for tracking and managing operational team performance
  • Proficient in writing production-level SQL and Python code
  • Consultant experience is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Masters degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$86,520.00 - $173,040.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
