Position Overview

We are seeking an Analytical Chemist to join our Research & Development team in Dublin, OH . This position offers the opportunity to lead technical projects at the interface of polymer science, analytical chemistry , and data analytics . You will support new product development, regulatory compliance, and advanced materials research programs.

This role requires hands-on lab expertise, strong data science skills, and the ability to independently manage multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and validate analytical and quality control (QC) methods, including Liquid Chromatography ( LC) method development .
  • Perform and interpret analyses using LC, Gas Chromatography (GC), Elemental Analysis, IR, GPC, and mass spectrometry (MS) .
  • Troubleshoot, calibration, maintain, and repair laboratory instrumentation.
  • Work closely with R&D scientists and chemists to support product development and research programs.
  • Manage analytical databases; use SQL for data structuring and querying.
    • Utilize LIMS and electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) to integrate data workflows.
  • Handle large datasets from polymer synthesis and performance testing.
  • Assist in data interpretation.
  • Develop tools for high-throughput screening and data-driven polymer design .
  • Create and communicate technical documentation, reports, and scientific presentations.
  • Travel frequently during the first few years for collaboration, training, and technical support.
Education & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masters degree or higher in Chemistry , Polymer Science , or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on lab experience in analytical chemistry.
  • Strong math foundation, including advanced algebra and statistical methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (or equivalent tools).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Python, SQL, R , and data tools such as Dotmatics .
  • Strong background in mass spectrometry interpretation across material types.
  • Experience developing and managing scientific databases .
  • Knowledge of machine learning , multivariate analysis , and predictive modeling .
  • Experience with LIMS and ELNs .
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support multiple cross-functional R&D initiatives.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple critical tasks simultaneously.
  • Capable of working independently to plan, organize, and execute projects.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable collaborating across functions and locations.
  • Adept at communicating scientific insights clearly to diverse teams.
