Position Overview

Are you a scientifically curious problem-solver with a passion for analytical chemistry? We are seeking a highly skilled Analytical Chemist with a PhD (or Masters with significant experience) to join our team and lead investigations into complex product challenges. In this role, you will apply advanced analytical techniques to resolve customer complaints, support product development, and drive continuous improvement in product quality and performance.

This is a hands-on, intellectually engaging role ideal for a chemist who thrives on solving real-world problems through scientific analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Complaint Resolution
    • Lead root cause investigations of customer complaints using advanced analytical methods
    • Design and execute experiments to identify chemical or material inconsistencies
    • Communicate findings clearly to internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Analytical Method Development
    • Develop, validate, and optimize testing protocols tailored to complex chemical matrices
  • Apply a wide range of techniques including:
      • High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
      • Gas Chromatography (GC)
      • Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)
      • Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Vis) Spectroscopy
    • Other wet chemistry and instrumental methods as needed
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Customer Service teams to improve product formulations and resolve technical issues
    • Provide analytical support for new product development and process optimization
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain meticulous records of experimental procedures, data, and interpretations
    • Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for internal and external audiences
  • Innovation & Continuous Learning
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in analytical chemistry
    • Recommend and implement improvements to laboratory practices and instrumentation

Qualifications Required:

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex chemical problems and deliver actionable insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, materials science, or specialty chemicals
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation tools

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $45.00/hr.
