I. Position Description

The Ecobat Solutions Process/Mechanical Engineer will assist in organizing, managing, and planning complex lithium recycling projects for the organization's process improvement, materials recovery, and plant implementation efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads all assigned project work demonstrating Ecobat values of Sustainability & Stewardship, Candor & Transparency, Accountability & Trust, Speed & Excellence.
  • Maintain clear communication pathway between engineering and project execution team.
  • Engage and communicate with process operators to ensure a smooth start up and operation.
  • Uses disciplined project management and planning methodology to deliver on project outcomes and realize results.
  • Assist in creating outline tasks involved in the project and delegates accordingly.
  • Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
  • Working knowledge of quality improvement methods and concepts.
  • Conducts risk assessments; reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate).
  • Communicates and collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide training and information required to promote and sell new projects, programs, and systems.
  • Ensures compliance with global, country, federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, meet deadlines and manage to schedule.
  • Facilitate team member meeting agendas, minutes, and cadence for closing open issues and concerns.
  • Facilitate the training and process training to site operators and managers.

II. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, preferably mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering.
  • At least three years of related experience required. PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications preferred.
  • Project management and process optimization.
  • Strong background in plant/production environments.
  • Knowledge of materials, corrosion, and basic battery chemistry.
  • Plant design and commissioning experience.
  • Operator training and SOP development.
  • Plant economics and maintenance planning.
  • Strong IT skills and communication.
  • Basic Spanish preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of plant/production experience.
  • Entry-level learnings in Project Management concepts.

IV. Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Work may involve exposure to airborne particles, mechanical parts, and vibration. May encounter extreme conditions and loud environments. Must follow safety regulations. Reasonable accommodations can be made.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, and use hands. Frequently lifts/moves up to 15 pounds. Requires close vision and ability to adjust focus.
