We are seeking Scientist I to join IQVIA Laboratories in Santa Fe, NM .
We hire passionate innovators who drive healthcare forward through thoughtful and inclusive collaboration. If you want to discover a career with greater purpose, join us as we transform and accelerate research and development.
Seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented scientist to join the antibody characterization team, supporting antibody discovery and optimization programs. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for surface plasmon resonance (SPR)-based analysis of antibody-target interactions, and will contribute to the broader characterization of antibody candidates, including developability profiling, and epitope characterization. The candidate is required to produce high-quality data and provide scientific interpretation for clients.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in biophysical methods for characterizing antibodies, particularly SPR, as well as experience with complementary techniques such as DLS, SEC-HPLC, thermal stability and ELISA-based assays. They will bring about a rigorous, data-driven mindset and collaborative approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced biotech environment.
What youll be doing:
- Design, execute, and analyze SPR binding assays (affinity, kinetics, competition, epitope binning) to characterize antibody-target interactions.
- Conduct developability screening including polyreactivity (SPR/ELISA), aggregation (SEC-HPLC), colloidal stability (DLS), and thermal stability (Tm/Tagg).
- Maintain and troubleshoot biophysical instrumentation, especially SPR platforms such as Carterra and Biacore 8k+.
- Interpret and present experimental data to project teams and stakeholders to support candidate advancement decisions.
- Draft technical summary reports for clients, including data suitable for regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in antibody discovery and optimization workflows.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory standards.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to method development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What we are looking for:
- BS in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or related discipline with 4+ years of experience; MS with 2+ years; or PhD.
- Hands-on experience with SPR assays and biophysical characterization techniques.
- Familiarity with antibody developability assays and analytical instrumentation.
- Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
The knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this role:
Required Experience and Skills:
- Familiarity with running and interpreting SPR assays for antibody-antigen interaction studies
- Familiarity with antibody developability assays, including polyreactivity profiling and stability assessments
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and maintain biophysical instruments
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software for SPR and chromatographic data
- Strong record of experimental design, execution, and communication of results
- Excellent attention to detail, organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
