Your Role:
At MilliporeSigma, the BioAnalytical Senior Scientist focuses on the development, optimization, and implementation of analytical methodology to support research and development of new products for filtration, single-use, chromatography, and viral gene therapy departments. The focus of this hands-on position will be to establish instrumentation and methods to characterize biologics, as well as perform analytical testing in support of ongoing research and development projects. The initial focus will be to establish LCMS methods on Waters BioAccord LCMS instrument. The candidate will participate on multi-disciplinary product development teams, will complete technical reports and work in the lab 50% of the time. This position will be based at our Bedford, MA campus.
- Independently evaluate, develop and apply new bioanalytical methodologies and instrumentation.
- Apply technical problem-solving skills for internal research programs as an independent technical contributor.
- Consolidate and analyze data from various sources, draw conclusions, and recommend scientific solutions.
- Present to project teams and internal management.
- Engage in thought leadership activities
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Biological or Chemical Sciences or a related discipline AND 4-7 years' experience in analytical biochemistry method and applications development
OR -
- MS in Biological or Chemical Sciences or a related discipline AND 7-9 years' experience in analytical biochemistry method and applications development
OR -
- BS in Biological or Chemical Sciences or a related discipline AND 9-12 years' experience in analytical biochemistry method and applications development
- 5+ years of LC-MS experience and a fundamental understanding of protein characterization in biopharmaceutical processing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise with protein LCMS on monoclonal antibodies and AAV capsid proteins
- Experience with analytical HPLC, particle analysis, and automation
- Results-oriented and able to work with stakeholders to prioritize and manage expectations
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment
- Excellent organizational and verbal and written communications skills
- Experience with product development process and working on cross-functional teams
- Understanding of lab operations to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, and safety
Pay Range for this position: $125,100-187,700
