Job Description We are seeking a driven and innovative Formulation Chemist to join our R&D team. This role is dedicated to developing high-performance cleaning and disinfecting products with a focus on quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness. You will engage in hands-on formulation, experimentation, and continuous process improvement. The candidate will be responsible for creating cutting-edge cleaning solutions, including all-purpose cleaners, degreasers, skin cleansers, glass cleaners, and disinfectants, while aligning with modern sustainability standards such as Green Seal, Ecologo, USDA BioPreferred, and EPA Safer Choice. Responsibilities
- Capable of teaching wet chemistry testing, including titrations, pH determinations, foam testing, solids determinations, and refractometer readings.
- Use and train others on analytical tools like FTIR, Flash Point tester, and centrifuge.
- Formulate new cleaning products aligned with performance goals, green standards, and market needs.
- Conduct lab experiments to assess efficacy, stability, and compatibility of formulations.
- Improve existing formulations for effectiveness, cost reduction, regulatory compliance, and streamlined manufacturing.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Marketing, QA/QC, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Purchasing.
- Provide guidance on product performance and testing protocols.
- Review and maintain accurate technical documentation, ensuring compliance with agencies like FDA, CARB, GHS, and EPA.
- Proficiency in chemistry and laboratory techniques.
- Experience with GMP, wet chemistry, titration, FTIR, centrifuge, HPLC, and quality control.
- Bachelors degree in a technical area or equivalent; chemistry degree preferred.
- 0-2 years of professional experience in a laboratory environment.
- Experience in quality control validations on raw materials and manufactured products.
- Ability to teach wet chemistry testing and use analytical tools.
- Capability to function as part of a team or as a team leader.
- Interaction skills with corporate and manufacturing contacts.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours and overtime when requested.
- Ability to perform fieldwork and lift heavy equipment.
