Location/Division Specific InformationGreenville, NC/Drug Product Division.
Shift: 8:00am4:30pm, Monday through Friday with overtime expected.
Discover Impactful Work:As an R&D/Manufacturing Scientist I at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will contribute to world-class scientific advancements! You will engage in outstanding work, aiding in the development of crucial medical therapies and environmental protection.
A day in the Life:- Participates/supports execution of studies, tech transfer, commercial scale-up and process validation.
- Assures documentation is in accordance with GDP/GMP.
- Participates in problem solving and project deliverables for formulations, equipment and supporting processes.
- Supports or revises work orders, Forms, reports, memos and protocols as required.
- Supports projects for lead scientists; may lead small projects on a case by case basis.
- Supports evaluation and interpretation of process data in order to support conclusions/ recommendations utilized in reports and for client communication.
- Supports active manufacturing processes including in process testing, activity coordination for manufacturing readiness.
- Coordinates sample shipments.

Education- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience preferred; preferably in Chemistry, Biology, or related physical science.
0-2 years of scientific experience and/or coursework.
Experience with technical writing is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities- Knowledge of scientific methodology and development as related to the pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong technical writing skills required.
- Effective interpersonal and presentation skills, including leading technical discussions with internal and external clients.
- Ability to develop knowledge and skills in pharmaceutical processes, equipment, instrumentation, and procedures.
- Ability to evaluate data, develop technical solutions, and make recommendations.
The role requires standing for extended periods, handling chemicals, and operating various laboratory equipment. Strict adherence to safety guidelines is essential.
