What You Will Do:

Hot Section Module Center is hiring a New Process & Technology (NPT) Process Development Engineer to lead new process and technology projects related to enabling necessary capability and capacity of new part designs and demand. The Process Engineer will be responsible for the planning and execution of critical development projects related to new program requirements.

The selected candidates will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment alongside the technical manufacturing team and Engineering to ensure efficient and timely execution of our project timelines. The Process Engineer will manage timely incorporation across HSMC of:

Capacity and technology improvement projects

Automation initiatives to reduce cost, improve throughput, and resolve ergonomic concerns

Improved or new process capabilities to ensure design intent of new programs is achieved and current production risks reduced

Responsibilities:

  • Business case generation for new projects ensuring proper on/off boarding of projects is aligned to business need and resources are allocated
  • Proof of concept execution for new technologies and processes
  • Process and technology development including part programming, tool and fixture design, and capital equipment specs
  • Process and technology testing and validation
  • Incorporation of new processes and technologies across mod center
  • Generate initial work instructions and SOPs for new process and technologies developed along with providing applicable training to end users
  • Work closely with the NPI team to establish and execute technology and process roadmaps aligned to engineering and program needs
  • Providing technical input and peer review to engineering designs and design changes.
  • Designing, controlling and improving the producibility of products through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
  • Develop and implement detailed Project Plans, Test Plans, Resource Plans, and project documentation as specifically required for each project.
  • Hold and participate in regular business stakeholder meetings and update on project status to both internal management and customers.
  • Establish metrics for the process including yield, cost, cycle time, capacity, safety, delivery etc. Monitor outcomes to identify and implement improvement opportunities
  • Identify, investigate and implement new technology to address business goals
  • Lead the initiative to advance the Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) and support hardware production for Technology Readiness Level (TRL) demonstration

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or other related Bachelors degree
  • 8+ years aerospace manufacturing experience
  • 5+ years experience with advanced degree
  • Experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • U.S. citizenship is required - Security clearance will be required, not necessary to start the role

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Project management experience/certification or advanced business degree
  • New technology and process development experience and successful transition to production
  • Manufacturing Readiness Level experience
  • A working-knowledge of quality and process improvement tools such as Six Sigma and LEAN
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings including Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to independently create all fixtures, tools, programs required to manufacture a part including operating the machine
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships and exercise influence
  • Ability to lead small teams to deliver outstanding results and overcome challenges

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
