Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking Maintenance Operators for a long-term position at a large specialty chemical manufacturing site in Birmingham, AL. As an Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment while supporting quality control and assisting with installations and repairs.

Rate: $25/hr + benefits PTO & Holiday Pay

Schedule: Will start M-F (8-5) for the first few weeks for training, before transitioning into your scheduled shift.

Shift: You must be available to work day and night shifts. The schedule will rotate from days to nights every 90 days, including weekends and holidays. The typical work week is 40- 44 hours.

Responsibilities:

Operate essential equipment and perform routine tasks, following strict, detailed instructions.

Carry out operational tasks by following established processes and working within given settings or parameters.

Help install equipment and appliances by preparing and assisting while following strict, detailed instructions.

Help maintain and repair equipment and appliances by preparing and assisting while following strict, detailed instructions.

Support the quality function by working within strict quality standards.

Follow basic mandatory work instructions (including using personal protective equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the well-being of oneself and others.

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent

Experience in maintenance and operating equipment with little to no supervision.

Clear communication skills to express ideas, request actions, and formulate plans or policies.

Works with guidance (without constant supervision) to develop, monitor, interpret, and understand policies and procedures, ensuring they match organizational strategies and objectives.

Works with guidance (without constant supervision) to efficiently plan, organize, prioritize, and oversee activities to meet business objectives.

Apply elementary concepts under supervision to manage and apply safe work systems.

Works with guidance (without constant supervision) to develop plans or take necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements

Perform tasks to review and create precise, relevant, and practical reports.

Works under supervision to encourage all employees to learn, grow, and develop the skills and knowledge needed to help the organization achieve its goals.

Identifies, assesses, prioritizes, and manages risks in a production process at an elementary level, under supervision.

Perform tasks to ensure that all management and operational activities fully comply with the relevant rules and regulations.
