Description
Responsible for performing and reporting laboratory analyses from multiple specimen sources in an accurate, precise, and timely manner. Conduct specimen handling and confirm identification and specimen suitability using appropriate procedures. Recognize discrepancies in patient's orders. Resolve and report problems and solutions. Perform and record instrument maintenance troubleshooting and quality control. Replenish reagents and supplies according to established protocols. Follow established reporting procedures.
Must have Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science program (or foreign equivalent) accredited by ASCP/NAACLS; OR Bachelor's degree in biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science (or foreign equivalent) and an ASCP categorical certification. Must be willing to work overnight shifts as needed.
