Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Independently plans, designs, and conducts experimental protocols designed to meet research objectives.
- Interprets research findings and analyzes data.
- Provides informed consent to research participants, to include ALS patients and family members.
- Processes donated tissue specimens in the Basic Science Laboratory for long term storage to create an ALS specimen Biobank.
- Extracts genetic material and proteins from biobank specimens for use in novel ALS biomarker research.
- Performs experiments to explore the utility of novel biomarkers in ALS.
- Maintains lab supplies and equipment.
- Maintains detailed records.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
- Related duties as required.
