Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions

• Independently plans, designs, and conducts experimental protocols designed to meet research objectives.
• Interprets research findings and analyzes data.
• Provides informed consent to research participants, to include ALS patients and family members.
• Processes donated tissue specimens in the Basic Science Laboratory for long term storage to create an ALS specimen Biobank.
• Extracts genetic material and proteins from biobank specimens for use in novel ALS biomarker research.
• Performs experiments to explore the utility of novel biomarkers in ALS.
• Maintains lab supplies and equipment.
• Maintains detailed records.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
• Related duties as required.
