Job Summary: The Postdoctoral Fellow provides for an internship and continuation of scholarly activity and research after achieving the PhD or other doctoral degree under the direction of a senior faculty member who serves as a mentor for the postdoctoral appointee.

Additional Department Summary: The Biological Sciences Department at the Postdoctoral Fellow seeks applications for a Postdoctoral Pellow to individuals with research interests. Individuals holding these positions are to conduct research with various faculty members on a variety of projects.

The Kocot Lab is part of the University of Alabama Department of Biological Sciences and the Alabama Museum of Natural History. Research in the lab focuses on the systematics and genomics of invertebrates using molecular and morphological approaches. Research and study will primarily focus on the worm-shaped aplacophoran molluscs and chitons.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate. Additional qualifications based on assignment.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Ph.D. or other terminal degree in the field of Computational and Quantitative Biology and Bioinformatics, and/or Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, orConservation Biology.
