Position Summary

Acuren Inspection (Massachusetts Materials Research) is seeking an Engineer with metallurgical, materials and/or mechanical background to join its Failure Analysis and Engineering Consulting Group. The position reports to and works closely with the Technical Director and experienced technicians on a dynamic mix of technical project management, laboratory analysis and customer interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities:
  • Collect information from clients, prepare project scopes and plans and deliver cost estimates.
  • Conduct studies and generate observations and data as required by project plan.
  • Assist in the coordination and scheduling of project work in the department to meet client needs.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to metallographic preparation technicians and assist with specimen preparation as required.
  • Develop draft reports and work with the Technical Director to finalize for client presentation.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with various industrial companies, law firms, power plants, municipalities, utilities, etc.
  • Perform other duties as may be required from time to time.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Metallurgy/Materials Science & Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong technical knowledge in the metallurgy/materials and mechanical engineering fields.
  • Experience in materials and failure analysis is preferable and considered an asset
  • Analytical/investigation skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, high energy, customer-focused and a positive, success-oriented attitude

Working Conditions
