Position Title: In Vitro Scientist

Pay rate: $40/hr.- $42/ hr.

Contract Length: 2 years

Location: Fairfield County, CT

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Research Associate to conduct vitro and cell-based assays, perform molecular biology techniques (e.g., RT-PCR, ELISA, Western blot), and maintain tissue cultures. The role involves independent experimental design, data analysis, equipment maintenance, and scientific documentation.

Responsibilities:

Independently conduct routine in vitro studies with minimal supervision.

Design and perform exploratory cell-based and biochemical assays.

Analyze experimental outcomes, troubleshoot issues, and propose follow-up actions.

Perform literature reviews and adapt published protocols for experimental use.

Operate and maintain lab equipment independently, including troubleshooting as needed.

Record experimental data with high integrity in electronic lab notebooks (ELNs).

Write and contribute to protocols, procedures, and technical reports.

Ensure work is performed in compliance with SOPs, regulations, and safety standards.

Requirements:

Master's degree in a related scientific discipline OR Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in pharma, biotech, or CRO settings.

Experience with aseptic animal tissue culture techniques.

Experience with molecular biology methods: nucleic acid extraction, RT-PCR, Western blot, ELISA, and transfection.

Strong experimental design and data interpretation skills

Ability to assess and integrate new scientific technologies.

Clear written and verbal communication of technical results.

Experience contributing to scientific documentation and reporting

Software Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism
