This position is part of the R&D department located in Fargo, ND and will be remote position. If a candidate lives near or is willing to relocate to the Fargo, ND to work onsite, this can be discussed during the interview process. You will be a part of the cross-functional NanoplasmidTM team and report to the Sr. Scientist responsible for Nanoplasmid design and innovation.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with scientist, both internally and externally, to design custom Nanoplasmids to meet their specific needs.
  • Develop solutions for simple and complex problems requiring a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation. Broaden existing expanded knowledge in own field, to other areas relevant to team operations.
  • Be an individual contributor with minimal supervision. Use existing procedures and develop novel procedures to solve client problems; analyze information and standard practices to make judgments. Work within standardized practices to achieve objectives and meet tight deadlines .
  • Work closely with sr.scientists, engineers, and product managers to achieve project goals and deliver results on tight timelines.
  • Engage in customer interactions, assist in training other scientists, get involved in a variety of novel technologies, and develop into leading team of multiple people.

Essential requirements of the job include:

  • BS degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline with 2+ years of experience OR MS degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline with 1+ years of experience OR PhD degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline with 0+ years of experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of gene synthesis and cloning. In-depth understanding of molecular cloning techniques, including PCR, restriction digestion, plasmid purification, Gibson assembly, Golden Gate assembly, and restriction-ligation cloning
  • High proficiency with Snapgene, Benchling, Geneious Prime, or other plasmid design software

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Knowledge of non-viral gene delivery methods
  • Experience with bacterial systems and strain engineering

The salary range for this role is $77K-$82K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
