We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Scientist to lead our efforts in developing and optimizing CRISPR-based technologies to join our Assisted Reproductive Technology and Transgenic Biology group in Velocigene. You will play a crucial role in advancing our research in precision genome editing (homologous recombination, prime, base editing and additional technologies), focusing on generating in vitro and in vivo models of genetic diseases. Our mission is to drive innovation in genome modification techniques and develop cutting-edge tools for therapeutic advancements.
As a Senior Scientist, a typical day might include:
Conducting in vitro cell culture-based experiments, such as expansion and transgene expression in immortalized cell lines, mouse ES cells and iPSC
Performing a variety of assays including, PCR, qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and Western blots
Designing experiments and managing in vivo mouse models including performing basic injections (intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, intravenous) and tissue dissections
Stay up to date with the current literature and work independently
Collaborating with other internal teams to coordinate cross-department experiments
Thorough and timely record keeping, data summarization, and presentation of results in formal and informal settings

In order to be considered for this role, you must have at least a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a related field and 0-4+ years of relevant experience or a BS/MS and 8-10+ years of relevant experience. We need someone with a deep understanding of molecular and cell biology, as well as expertise in genome editing technologies. Experience working in-vivo with mice including injections, tissue collections and related analysis. Experience with molecular biology techniques (cloning, PCR, Western Blot, ELISA, sequencing) and CRISPR technology is required. Must have experience with cell culture (mouse ES cells, immortalized cells, iPSCs preferred) and flow cytometry. Must have knowledge of high-resolution microscopy and visualization of DNA repair.

$108,300.00 - $176,700.00
